UFC Fight Night: Teixeira vs Saint Preux Odds

UFC Fight Night action returns this weekend when UFC Fight Night 73 plays out in Nashville, Tennessee. Headlining the card will be a Light Heavyweight matchup between Glover Teixeira and Ovince Saint Preux, plus a co-main event that pits Michael Johnson against Beneil Dariush.

MMA odds to win are already available at 5Dimes on all 13 fights including the closely handicapped main event - Teixeira is a -120 favorite while action on the Saint Preux upset will pay +100. There looks to be a little more value in the prop options when one considers the finishing rate of these two fighters.

We expect Teixeira to come out on top of this fight, as he has only lost to the most elite in the division and should be able to stand against the power that Saint Preux will bring. However, the bet that makes the most sense to us is the -116 option that the fight starts the third round, as we expect Saint Preux to gas shortly after that point.

The co-main event will feature the surging Michael Johnson against Beneil Dariush. Action on these two fighters is handicapped in favor of Johnson who is coming with a -160 price at 5Dimes. Bets on Dariush to win are paying +140. Both are on four-fight win streaks and are looking to step up into the upper echelon of the Lightweight division.

We like the chalk option to win in this matchup, especially in a three-round fight. Johnson should prove to be the tougher fighter and will likely win via decision (+170). Dariush will need to get the fight on the ground to have a chance to win, but that is a difficult thing to do against Johnson.

In the main event of the UFC Fight Night 73 undercard, The Ultimate Fighter alum Uriah Hall will face the undefeated Oluwale Bamgbose. 5Dimes odds have Hall handicapped as the -420 favorite while action on Bamgbose will pay +335.

Despite Hall putting on displays of striking that are as impressive as anything we see in the sport, he often fails to show up mentally in fights. It may be worth the risk to put a couple of units on the Bamgbose upset option just in case Hall doesn’t feel like fighting.
