UFC Fight Night action heads to Halifax, Nova Scotia this weekend with a full card of action for MMA betting fans. Headlining the event will be a Heavyweight fight between up-and-comer Derrick Lewis and Travis Browne, while the UFC Fight Night 105 co-main pits Hector Lombard against former UFC Welterweight champ Jonny Hendricks.
Lewis has been getting lots of attention since entering the UFC with five straight UFC wins to his credit. He is set to put himself in a potential title shot position with an impressive win over Browne, and the UFC odds at Bovada think he has a better chance to win than his opponent.
Current UFC odds have Lewis handicapped as the -120 favorite while action on Browne comes with a -110 price. The price on Lewis has dropped from the initial -135 opening offering, and we agree with the way the action is moving, and like Browne in this fight. Lewis is susceptible to getting hit and does not want to take too many shots from his powerful opponent. We expect Browne to stop the Lewis hype train in its tracks.
The UFC Fight Night 105 co-main event offers a matchup between two fighters who have seen their careers drastically slump since the introduction of the new MMA drug testing policies. Both fighters are a shell of their former selves and have not recorded a victory in their last three fights, which makes it tough to pick a winner in this one.
Current UFC odds at Bovada have it handicapped in favor of Lombard at -130 while action on Hendricks will pay +100. We agree with the lines and think that Lombard will come out on top, mainly because it appears that Hendricks has lost his will to fight and appears to be just riding out his UFC contract.
The other line that jumps out at us on the UFC Fight Night 105 card is the +100 option on Elias Theodorou to beat Cezar Ferreira (-130). We think Theodorou will use his combination of skills to out-work his opponent for what should be a lackluster decision win.
