UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs Masvidal

UFC Fight Night action is lined up again this weekend with a full card of fights coming from Seoul, South Korea. Headlining the event will be a Welterweight clash between former UFC Lightweight champion Benson Henderson and Jorge Masvidal.

Also on the UFC Fight Night 79 card will be appearances by Dong Hyun Kim and Yoshihiro Akiyama.

Benson Henderson will look to remain unbeaten at Welterweight in the UFC when he steps into the Octagon against Jorge Masvidal. Having dropped three of his last six fights at Lightweight, the move up in weight class seems to be what the former champ needed to get back to his winning ways.

Oddsmakers at Bovada have Henderson handicapped as the -265 favorite while action on Masvidal is offering a +205 payday. We think that line is on par, as we expect Henderson to use his footwork and striking to cruise to a unanimous decision win.

The co-main event is handicapped as a lopsided affair with Dong Hyun Kim currently listed as a -600 favorite. Kim was supposed to originally face Masvidal, but his opponent had to be replaced in order to save the fight card’s main event. That leaves a big price on Kim in what should be a dominant performance win.

Little is known about his opponent Dominic Waters other than the fact that he lost his last fight to a lesser opponent and that he has little chance to pay out on the +400 option currently being offered on him to win at Bovada.

A more evenly matched option on the UFC Fight Night 79 card is the Alberto Mina vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama fight. Current odds at Bovada have Akiyama handicapped as the slim -165 favorite while action on Mina offers a +135 payday.

Akiyama had lost four in a row before an impressive showing against Amir Sadollah over a year ago. This might be the best option on the UFC Fight Night 79 card for an upset payday. Mina is 11-0 and looks to have all the momentum on his side for an impressive showing this weekend.
