UFC 224 Betting: Nunes vs Pennington Odds

The UFC heads south this weekend, returning to Brazil for UFC 224: Nunes vs Pennington.

The main event is a women’s bantamweight championship bout between champ Amanda Nunes and Raquel Pennington. At Bovada Sportsbook, Nunes is a -900 favorite and Pennington a +550 underdog.

Nunes has won her last six fights and will be making her third title defense. She owns an overall record of 15-4 with 10 wins by knockout and three by submission. She last fought at UFC 215 in September when she defeated Valentina Shevchenko by split decision as a -110 underdog.

Pennington returns to the Octagon after a near 18-month layoff due to a number of injuries. She has won her last four fights to stand at 9-5 with one win by KO and three by submission. Her last fight was at UFC 201 in November 2016 where she defeated Miesha Tate by unanimous decision as a +100 underdog.

Also on the UFC 224 main card is a middleweight bout between Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and Kelvin Gastelum. At Bovada Sportsbook, Souza is a -150 favorite and Gastelum a +120 underdog.

Souza is 25-5 and one no contest with 14 wins by submission and seven by KO. He last fought at UFC on Fox 27 in January, defeating Derek Brunson by KO as a -155 favorite.

Gastelum is 14-3 and one no contest with six wins by KO and four by submission. He last fought at UFC Fight Night 122 in November where he stopped Michael Bisping by KO as a -330 favorite.

One other notable fight on the main card this weekend is a women’s strawweight bout between Mackenzie Dern and Amanda Cooper. Dern is a -250 favorite and Cooper a +195 underdog.

Dern is undefeated in her MMA career at 6-0 with three wins by submission. She made her UFC debut in her last fight at UFC 222 where she defeated Ashley Yoder by split decision as a -600 favorite.

Cooper is 3-3 with one win by KO and one by submission. She last fought at UFC 218 in December when she defeated Angela Magana by TKO as a -550 favorite.
