Ronda Rousey makes her long-awaited return to the Octagon this Friday night as she vies for the Women’s UFC Bantamweight championship she lost last year.
The UFC 207 fight card will also feature a Men’s UFC Bantamweight championship fight as champion Dominick Cruz defends against undefeated challenger Cody Garbrandt. The Bantamweight action continues at UFC 207 with a top contender matchup between former champ T.J. Dillashaw and John Lineker.
Once the biggest draw in MMA, Rousey returns for the first time since her devastating KO defeat to Holly Holm last year. She will face the lethal striking skills of current champ Amanda Nunes. MMA betting odds favor Rousey, who is handicapped as the -150 favorite at Bovada. She will need to close the distance in the early going and use her judo and grappling skills to gain the victory.
The UFC odds upset option on Nunes is paying +120 at Bovada and looks like a good option to us when one considers her striking abilities. She needs to maintain a proper distance and throw straight punches and kicks for what we expect to be a dominant display of striking technique. Rousey will not be able to stand with her for any amount of time, and we expect Nunes to defend her title and stake her place as the best 135-pound female fighter in MMA.
In the UFC 207 co-main event Cruz will bring his vast Octagon experience in against a young up-and-comer who is likely getting his title shot a bit prematurely. We expect Cruz to be good for the -225 Bovada option as he plays matador against the hard-hitting Garbrandt. If you think Cruz will get caught, you can opt for the Bovada +175 payday for the challenger who will be looking to take off the head of the champion the entire fight.
The best chalk option on the card looks like it’s the -250 MMA odds on Dillashaw over Lineker. Dillashaw is far superior in all aspects of MMA than Lineker and should wear him down with strikes for either a third-round KO or decision win.
