UFC pay-per-view action returns this weekend with a UFC Featherweight Interim title on the line as the division looks to regroup following the Conor McGregor dismantling that has gone on there over the past two years.
Max Holloway will battle former UFC Lightweight champion Anthony Pettis for the belt, with the new Interim champ guaranteed a shot at the real title in 2017. UFC 206 will also feature appearances by Cowboy Donald Cerrone, Kevin Gastelum, Tim Kennedy, Matt Brown and Cub Swanson.
MMA betting lines at Bovada have the main event closely handicapped with the -190 edge on Holloway. Action on Pettis is offering a +155 payday, up from the opening offer of +125. We like the bigger Pettis for the UFC odds upset in this one, especially if he can find his range and utilize his kicks against an opponent that will keep moving towards him.
The UFC 206 co-main event features Cerrone once again at Welterweight, this time against the ultra-tough Matt Brown. UFC odds at Bovada have Cerrone as the heavy -275 favorite, which seems a little expensive against a fighter as determined as Brown. Once again we like the upset option on Brown in the co-main, which currently sits at +215. All Brown has to do is close the distance and dirty box his way to victory.
Kevin Gastelum returns to Middleweight at UFC 206 to face veteran Tim Kennedy. MMA betting options at Bovada have Kennedy handicapped as the -140 favorite while action on Gastelum will pay +120. Once again we're going with the underdog Gastelum to come out on top. He has the wrestling skills to dominate the fight on the ground, and at 185 pounds his cardio shouldn't be an issue.
If you're looking for some chalk action on the UFC 206 fight card we suggest opting for the -185 option on Valerie Letourneau to beat Viviane Pereira. She will be highly motivated to have a good outing following her poorly refereed fight last time out, and she will be facing an opponent who's making her UFC debut.
