Newly crowned UFC Middleweight champion Michael Bisping will finally get to defend a title in front of hometown fans this weekend when he puts it all on the line against MMA legend Dan Henderson.
UFC 204 will be coming to MMA betting fans from London, England and odds at Bovada are offering a mix of closely handicapped and one-sided betting lines.
Bisping is hoping to make the most of his upset victory to gain the UFC Middleweight title with a revenge win over Henderson. The two met previously with the result being one of the most memorable KO’s in MMA history.
Bisping hopes to avenge that loss and finally have his dream fight as champion in front of UK fans. The Count is an amazing 13-1 when handicapped as the favorite, and Bovada has him listed as the UFC odds -250 favorite.
Henderson is not the same fighter who KOed Bisping unconscious back in 2009. We expect Bisping to maintain a safe distance and wear down Henderson for what should be either a late-round KO or unanimous decision victory. Henderson’s only chance to pay out on the +185 offering will be to land a heavy right hand again, but Bisping will be taking every precaution to prevent that from happening.
In the UFC 204 co-main event Vitor Belfort will face hard-hitting Gegard Mousasi as a big underdog. Belfort is a shell of the fighter he used to be now that drug testing in the sport has increased, and for that reason the former UFC champ is a heavy +255 underdog at Bovada.
Belfort has shown a weak chin and a lack of the explosiveness that set him apart from other fighters. We expect Mousasi to dominate for a fast KO finish, likely in the first two minutes of the first round.
Another MMA betting line on the UFC 204 fight card that jumps out at us is the -185 option on Stefan Struve to beat Daniel Omielanczuk (+150). Struve will have a massive size advantage against his six-foot opponent and should be able to use reach and jiu-jitsu skills to handily come out on top.
