UFC 202 Betting: Diaz vs McGregor 2 Odds

The biggest draw in MMA returns to the Octagon this Saturday night as Conor McGregor looks to even the score and avenge his only UFC loss to Nate Diaz.

The UFC 202 main event promises to be a legendary fight, but MMA betting action is available at online sportsbook Bovada on all 12 fights, including an intriguing co-main event between two top Light Heavyweight contenders.

Odds have the main fight handicapped close. Despite the previous loss, Mystic Mac is the -130 favorite at Bovada. The option on McGregor was as cheap as -115 at one point, but heavy action moved that UFC odds line as high as -140. Action on Diaz is paying +100 if you think the fight will play out in a similar fashion to the first edition.

We like the McGregor option this time around. We expect the UFC Featherweight champ to utilize his speed and foot movement to win either a unanimous decision or late-round KO. That sets up a third payday for the two fighters down the road. And with so much money on the line for both, it makes sense on multiple levels for McGregor to get the victory and set up the third fight for the future.

The UFC 202 co-main event features two beasts looking for the next UFC Light Heavyweight title shot. Anthony Johnson steps into the Octagon with Glover Teixeira for what should be a fast and furious slugfest ending in one fighter going to sleep. Odds are close, with Johnson handicapped as a Bovada -200 favorite. If you think Teixeira can weather the storm and go on to victory, that upset will pay UFC odds of +160.

Despite Teixeira’s proven toughness, we don’t think he can take what Johnson will be bringing in the early rounds. Look for the Johnson KO win in the first two rounds.

Cowboy Donald Cerrone will be back in the Octagon to face a surging Rick Story. Action on the Cowboy comes with a -165 Bovada price, and for you MMA betting fans that like to pick the upsets, the +135 option on Story might be the best option on the card for the underdog payday.
